Lucas: My name is Lucas Scott. I'm a senior at Tree Hill High School. Tree Hill is just a place somewhere in the world. Maybe it's a lot like your world. Maybe it's nothing like it. But if you look closer, you might see someone like you. Or someone like my best friend, Haley. If you're married, a senior in high school, and not sure if your husband is still alive, then I'd say your world is a lot like Haley's. Today was supposed to be the best day of her life. But it's amazing how things can change in the blink of an eye. Or, in this case, in 29 minutes.

Lucas: Things that take 14 minutes -- boiling an ostrich egg, Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video. It also takes 14 minutes to get from the Melina bridge to Tree Hill hospital.

Lucas: Peyton Sawyer is a good friend. Brooke Davis is my girlfriend. At least, for now she is.

Rachel: Slut.
Brooke: Bitch.
Rachel: Whore. (...) Well, I know I'm not in heaven 'cause they'd never let Brooke Davis' skanky ass through the gates.
Brooke: And your ass wouldn't fit. At least not the old one.

Police Officer: (to Rachel.) I understand you were inebriated. Several witnesses say you made a bit of a scene at the reception, said you were pretty upset with him. Now, when you're up to it, we're gonna need to take your statement about what happened on that bridge. I'm especially interested to hear how a professional driver could just lose control of a vehicle like that. I mean, I have my theory, but, for your sake, you better hope he wakes up and tells me that I'm wrong.

(Peyton puts finger by mouth and looks up, thinking)

Lucas: (closes eye�€™s for moment/finishes title) Still�€�
Peyton: Uh-huh
(Lucas laughs lightly and Peyton looks at him smiling waiting for the next one)
Lucas: (quickly) �€œRunning with the--
Peyton: Van Halen!--
Lucas: (through teeth) --Devil!�€� God!...Good �€¦ man, when was the last time we just hug out?
Peyton: Ummm, God just the two of us? I don�€™t know, probably the day we hid out in the library and I go shot in the leg
Lucas: (looks down) Yeaaah, you think about that much?
Peyton: �€¦Every day (looks away and down) I wish I could take that day back for you�€™re mom and Keith (Lucas looks down and nods) and I wish I could take back our kiss for you and Brooke
(Peyton looks at Lucas who looks up at her and sighs)

Lucas: Okay, so this �€¦ maybe brother of yours

Peyton: Mm-mm, no, he is thee son of the biological father I haven�€™t met (inhales) �€¦ (quietly) apparently his name is Derek
Lucas: You gonna call him?
Peyton: I don�€™t know I mean, it�€™s not just �€¦ about me. It�€™s his life to consider, too so �€¦ I mean, maybe he doesn�€™t even know about me an-- �€¦ maybe, he doesn�€™t wanna know about me
Lucas: Or maybe he found a letter in a Led Zeppelin album and he�€™s just a little to (teasing) scared to pick up the phone and dial.
(Peyton gives him a �€œha ha, very funny�€� look, the door opens and Brooke enters to sees Peyton in her boyfriend's room)
Lucas: Hey
Brooke: I�€™d--

Brooke: (coldly) I�€™d like to talk to my boyfriend (Peyton gets up) alone
(Peyton walks to the door a bit uncomfortable with the situation and Lucas looks sympathetically at Peyton for the way he sees Brooke treating her. Peyton starts to exit)
Brooke: Nice job not hitting on him
(Peyton stands next to Brooke and looks at Lucas)
Peyton: (smiles) Luke, I�€™ll get those CD�€™s later �€¦ thanks for the sex
(Brooke gives Peyton a look and Peyton just smiles at her and exits)
Lucas: (stands) She�€™s �€¦ (points outside) joking

Tree Hill is just a place somewhere in the world. Maybe it's a lot like your world, maybe it's nothing like it. But if you look closer, you might see someone like you. Someone trying to find their way. Someone trying to find their place. Someone trying to find their self. Sometimes it seems like you are the only one in the world who's struggling, who's frustrated, or unsatisfied, or barely getting by. But that feeling's a lie. And if you just hold on, just find the courage to face it all for another day, someone or something will find you and make it all okay. Because we all need a little help sometimes. Someone to help us hear the music in the world, to remind us that it won't always be this way. That someone is out there. And that someone will find you.

Lucas: There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroad, afraid, confused, without a roadmap. The choices we make in those moments can define the rest of our days. Of course when faced with the unknown, most of us prefer to turn around and go back.

Lucas: But once in a while people push on to something better. Something found just beyond the pain of going it alone and just beyond the bravery and courage it takes to let someone in. Or to give someone a second chance. Something beyond the quite persistence of a dream.

Lucas: Because it�´s only when you�´re tested that you truly discover who you are. And it�´s only when you�´re tested that you discover who you can be. The person that you want to be does exist, somewhere in the other side of hard work and faith, and belief and beyond the HEARTACHE and fear of what life has.

Lucas: You ever look a picture of yourself, and see a stranger in the background?. It makes you wonder how many strangers have pictures of you. How many moments of other peoples life have we been in. Were we a part of someone's life when their dream came true or were we there when their dream died. Did we keep trying to get in? As if we were somehow destined to be there or did the shot take us by surprise. Just think, you could be a big part of someone elses life, and not even know it.

Haley: Stay the hell away from my husband.
Rachel:I was just giving him a proper thank you.
Haley: Please, your thank you's send people to the free clinic.
Peyton: Ha!
Brooke: What are you laughing at? Your "I love you"'s send people to their grave.
Peyton: Well in that case, I love you, Brooke.

Peyton: Hey, did you talk to Brooke? Is it true?
Lucas: I don�€™t know yet (looks at Peyton) listen--what did Derek exactly say to you about me and Brooke?
Peyton: (smiles) That�€™s �€¦ so not important

Peyton: He said he heard you say you would cut me out of your life if she would take you back--and it�€™s fine, Luke, I get it, !I get it!----Okay?!--

Haley: (smiling) What?
Nathan: (big grin) I�€™m going to Duke
Haley: (shocked) I�€™m pregnant
(Nathan�€™s smiles drops, he looks at her stomach for a moment not believing what he just heard, Haley laughs nervously waiting for his reaction)
Haley: (nervous) It�€™s not Brooke, it�€™s me
Nathan: What? Well, how long have you known?
Haley: (frowns) A few weeks
Nathan: (upset) A few weeks?!
Haley: I�€™m sorry, I didn�€™t know how to tell you
Nathan: (trying to take it all in) Oh

Nathan: Do you still want to go to Stanford?

Haley: Um, yeah, I mean (cell phone rings) of--of course I do but I don�€™t--
(Nathan checks his cell phone and it�€™s a call from �€œRachel�€� ugh! Nathan closes the phone)
Nathan: (thinking) I have to go
Haley: What do you----Nathan, !Nathan!
(Nathan turns)
Haley: (smiles) I�€™m pregnant �€¦ (smile fades) were pregnant, at least just tell me how you feel about that?
Nathan: I feel like you should�€™ve told me a few weeks ago..that�€™s how I feel

Peyton: Can you believe this? Derek, is it any wonder I have commitment issues?
Lucas: Yep, you�€™re pretty much the Bermuda Triangle of relationships
Peyton: Thanks (Lucas looks out the window)(looks at watch) Crap, can you turn around
Lucas: What?
Peyton: Just turn around I have to change
Lucas: Oh
(Lucas spins around and sits on his bed facing the door that exit�€™s the house, back facing Peyton who pulls out her cheerleading uniform clothes)
Peyton: You know, I just--I can�€™t believe what a creep he turned out to be, you know and I just let him waltz into my house like (low raspy voice) �€œHey, I�€™m crazy psycho can I come in�€� (normal voice) and I�€™m like �€œYeah, sure you wanna see my bedroom�€�
Lucas: Peyton--
Peyton: And he�€™s still out there
Lucas: (quietly) Oh, my God (normal) They�€™ll find him Okay? All right, the detectives--they said they�€™d call when they do and then we�€™ll finally have some answers. Until then, you�€™re safe with me, I promise
Peyton: You�€™re always saving me (zips the side of shirt) Okay, you can turn around
(Lucas turns around to see Peyton wearing her cheerleading uniform)
Lucas: (playful flirty-ness) Whoa (lies back on bed) is this, uh, you�€™re way of saying (raises eyebrows) �€œThank you�€�

Nathan: As many of you know, I called this press conference today to announce where I'm planning to play basketball in college. I got a lot of great offers but its always been my dream to play in Duke University, so ah... that's where I plan to go but... You know, my father said that today will be the greatest day of my life, and you're right dad, it is. But it's not because of basketball. You see, today I learned that my wife Haley is pregnant. It's an absolute honor to be recruited by Duke University. I guess what I have to say to you today is this: where I play basketball, if I play basketball, is no longer a decision for me to make alone. It's a decision that I make with my wife and my family's best interests at heart, and when I do I'll let you all know. My wife couldn't be here today so, I just wanted to say one thing to her: Haley, no matters what happens, we face it together. I promise you, I've never been happier. Everything is gonna be okay.
